★★★Must-see·The Green Lung
Bang Krachao
บางกระเจ้า
River-wrapped jungle a few minutes by boat from Khlong Toei — Bangkok's best half-day escape.
The green lung — a river-wrapped peninsula of jungle, stilt houses and elevated bike paths, a few minutes by boat from the towers of Khlong Toei. Rent a bike at the pier, get lost on the raised concrete paths, swim at no point, and finish at the weekend floating market. It is the fastest full escape Bangkok offers.

Using the park
- Bangkok's public parks generally run about 04:30 to 21:00 — the city exercises before the heat and after it.
- Midday is punishing from March to May; dawn and the hour before dusk are what these spaces are for.
- Water monitors are residents, not an emergency. Give them room and they'll ignore you.
Getting there
No station within easy walking distance — this one is a taxi or boat trip.
Typical times, not a timetable · rail, boat and BRT routing runs right in the atlas.
Greater Bangkok — outside the city proper, worth the trip
