Bang Phli Old Market
ตลาดโบราณบางพลี
A teak market row on Khlong Samrong since 1857 — stewed duck, old shophouses and a giant Buddha next door.
The teak market row has lined Khlong Samrong since 1857. Come hungry before noon for the stewed duck and feed the fish off the pier. Time it for Rap Bua at the end of Buddhist Lent, usually in October, when the canal fills with thrown lotus.

Timing it right
- Market hours vary enormously — some are weekend-only, some are night-only, and a few are both.
- Cash still rules the small stalls; bring small notes.
- Go early or late. The middle of the day is the hottest and most crowded part of any Bangkok market.
