Elephant Building
ตึกช้าง
A 32-storey elephant — trunk, eyes, tusks and all — routinely ranked among the world's strangest skyscrapers. North Bangkok's drive-by photo stop.
The 1997 postmodern icon on Phahon Yothin — an office block shaped, sincerely, like an elephant. Best from the Chatuchak side; a beloved oddity of the skyline.

Checked 10 Oct 2026 against commons.wikimedia.org, openstreetmap.org, wikidata.org. Things change: closures for royal ceremonies and holidays are common.
Before you go
- City landmarks draw crowds from mid-morning; first hour after opening is the calm one.
- Several sit inside active religious or royal compounds — the temple dress rule applies there too.
Check opening hours, ticket prices and any closure for ceremonies when you arrive — we have no verified official site for this one.
