★★Worth it·Neon bar strip
Soi Cowboy
ซอยคาวบอย
One short lane of wall-to-wall neon — Bangkok's most photographed go-go bar strip, named for a 1970s American bar owner. Adult nightlife; know what it is before you go.
The name honors T.G. 'Cowboy' Edwards, a retired U.S. Air Force officer who opened a bar here in 1977 and worked it in a stetson. Drinks are double street price and lady-drinks double that. The neon is best photographed from the Asok end around 20:00.

A night out here
- These streets are at their busiest from about 21:00 onwards.
- Agree a price before anything starts, keep your belongings close, and treat any drink you didn't watch being poured with suspicion.
- Metered taxis and ride apps are the reliable way home late; tuk-tuk quotes at closing time are theatre.
