★★Worth it·River pier
Maharaj Pier
ท่ามหาราช
The third Grand Palace pier, with a small riverside mall attached — the calmer landing between Tha Chang and the amulet market.
The pier's upper deck is the cheat code for Grand Palace days: air-con cafés, clean bathrooms and a river breeze two minutes from the palace wall. Only the blue-flag tourist boat calls here, and the walk north to the amulet market follows the river the whole way.

Using it
- Rail and boat services run to headways rather than published minute-by-minute timetables; the atlas quotes typical times, never a schedule.
- Stored-value cards work within a single operator, not across all of them.
Check fares, first and last service, and ticket types when you arrive — we have no verified official site for this one.
