Pig Memorial
อนุสาวรีย์หมู
A gilded 1913 pig on the old city moat, a birthday gift for a queen born in the Year of the Pig.
Three men born in the same year as Queen Saovabha set up this gilded pig in 1913 for her 50th birthday and named it the Sahachat Memorial. It stands by Saphan Pi Kun, the 'Year of the Pig' footbridge over Khlong Lot, the old city moat. Give it five minutes on the canal walk past Wat Ratchapradit and Saranrom Park.

Checked 10 Oct 2026 against openstreetmap.org, wikidata.org, commons.wikimedia.org. Things change: closures for royal ceremonies and holidays are common.
Before you go
- City landmarks draw crowds from mid-morning; first hour after opening is the calm one.
- Several sit inside active religious or royal compounds — the temple dress rule applies there too.
Check opening hours, ticket prices and any closure for ceremonies when you arrive — we have no verified official site for this one.
