Wat Suwannaram

วัดสุวรรณาราม

Early-Rattanakosin murals that scholars call the finest in Bangkok, quiet on Khlong Bangkok Noi.

This Ayutthaya-era temple holds the finest early-Rattanakosin murals on the west bank — painted under Rama III by the two master painters whose rivalry splits the hall down the middle. Ask the monks to unlock the ubosot; a small donation keeps the lights on and the visit private.
