Wat Traimit

วัดไตรมิตร

Five and a half tons of solid-gold Buddha.

Home of the Golden Buddha — five and a half tonnes of solid gold, hidden for centuries under plaster and rediscovered by accident in 1955 when it slipped from a crane. The upper-floor museum tells the story well. It guards Chinatown's gate; pair it with a Yaowarat evening.
