★★Worth it·Food street
Talat Phlu
ตลาดพลู
A hundred years of night eating under the railway.
Old Thonburi's food street, famous for a century of Teochew cooking — kuay teow moo, mee krob, and the grand old shophouses to eat them in. The BTS gets you close; the evening stalls are around the old market and the Maeklong-line stop, north of the station.

Timing it right
- Market hours vary enormously — some are weekend-only, some are night-only, and a few are both.
- Cash still rules the small stalls; bring small notes.
- Go early or late. The middle of the day is the hottest and most crowded part of any Bangkok market.
